NOTES:
The 5 Mile road race is open to all ages.
The 5K road race is for ages 18-under only.
Ages 19-over may may compete in the 5 Mile only.
Ages 18-under may compete in the 5K or the 5 Mile.
The 5K race is Race #2 in the 2008 Alabama Striders 18-under 5K Grand Prix
Following the road races, runners may stay and watch the state championship
Hershey Track and Field Meet for ages 9-14 as of December 31, 2008.
Participation in the track meet is limited to athletes who have qualified
for the meet in previous district Hershey meets earlier this year.
This race replaces the 5 mile & 18-under 5K
that was originally scheduled for 7:30am in Weaver.
The location of today's race was changed to coincide with the Hershey meet.

DIRECTIONS  TO  RACE  LOCATION: 736 Park Avenue NW
From the intersection of Interstate 20 and Alabama Highway 21 in Oxford,
follow Highway 21 North for approximately 17 miles to Highway 204.
Turn left on Highway 204 West and go approximately a half mile on Highway 204.
Turn left just past the cemetery on the left. You will then see the coliseum on the right.
The entrance to the university track is at the southwest corner of the coliseum.

COURSE:
This is an entirely out and back course and is the same course
as was used for the Springtime Invitational race on March 31, 2007.
Both races start simultaneously at the 110 meter starting line
on the end of the track closest to the coliseum.
After going about 0.2 miles on the track,
the course exits the track with only about 25 yards on grass
and follows paved roads to the nearby flat, paved Chief Ladiga Trail.
Follow the trail to the halfway turnaround for the 5K (marked by a water station)
or the halfway turnaround for the 5 mile (marked by cones).

AWARDS (5 MILE):
Top 3 males and top 3 females overall and
top 3 males and top 3 females in each age group:
9-under, 10-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49,
50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95-99, 100-over.

AWARDS (18-under 5K):
Top 3 males and top 3 females overall and
top 3 males and top 3 females in each division according to year of birth:
born May 18, 1989-Dec. 31, 1991, born 1992-1993, born 1994-1995,
born 1996-1997, born 1998-1999, born 2000-2001, born 2002 & after
Top 3 overall winners are not eligible in age groups.

REGISTRATION  INFORMATION:
Registration is race day only (no pre-trgistration).
Fee for runners 19-over is $12 race day.
For Anniston Runners Club members, 19-over fee is $10 race day.
Fee for runners 18-under is $10 race day.
For Anniston Runners Club members, 18-under fee is $8 race day.
Each entrant receives a t-shirt.
